I don’t even know when I started hearing God in dreams. It was a long time ago. But I do remember when I started hearing God in dreams at a much greater level. And that was around 2003 ish.
The internet was younger back then. I had found some really boring online forum that claimed to train up prophetic people. Some school for prophets, so to speak. It sent out an email every so often with info. And then one day it just disappeared. So I kept looking.
I discovered this new place that claimed to train up prophetic people. GMRN is the name they were going by at the time (Now they are called Apostolic Movement International). And there was a lady named Colette Toach that I had never heard of. But she had authored this book called “The Way of Dreams and Visions.” And she was offering a class in it. So I figured what the heck, let’s try it out.
I hate the word anointed. Don’t ask me why. But it rubs me the wrong way. For years I have heard so many people talk about “The Anointing.” But I have the Anointed One living in me. IN ME. 24/7/365 (366 on leap years!) Any time I have wanted anything from God that is biblical, I just go to Him and petition Him for it. And He has NEVER failed to deliver.
So to me the word anointing just means “I already went to God and got this, so I will share it with you.” I feel as though becoming more anointed equates to simply growing more in Christ.
Anyways, I say all that to say that this Dreams and Vision book was weird. It had me wondering if there was some spiritual blessing or anointing upon it. As I read it, and did the practical exercises within it, I LIVED IT. I lived every bit of that book. It was literally practical advice and some sort of empowerment to start hearing from God in my dreams.
It’s Already Been Done
I’m not going to share everything with you on hearing in Dreams, as it has already been done. If you want to hear God in your dreams, I cannot recommend enough the “Way of Dreams and Visions” course. Get the Book AND the workbook. Sign up for the course through them. Take the time to work your way through the book slowly. One lesson a week. They have numerous websites nowadays, but Apostolic Movement International is what they are going by nowadays.
Side note: I will say, I don’t necessarily agree 100% with everything that Colette believes and puts in her books. I don’t think it is required that we agree with someone 100% in order to learn from them. But overall I think her Dreams and Visions book is pretty good, and I believe her ministry is a good thing.
