Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

I borrowed a book from my church. It was a book called “How to Heal the Sick” by Charles and Frances Hunter. (I discovered later that they approach healing all wrong and are very legalistic about it.) But in this book it talked about the baptism in the Holy Spirit. I read my Bible to make sure it was real, and then I decided to pray for the baptism In the Holy Spirit, whatever that was. I went to sleep that night and when I woke up, I did not feel any difference.

So I did it again the next night. And the next night. And on this night, something weird happened. There was a strong wind draft all of a sudden in my room. And I don’t live in a regular room – I live in a downstairs room next to a living room. There is never a draft in this room. So I got up and checked the downstairs windows, the doors, the fans, and the upstairs window. I could not find anything open.

Glow-in-the-dark was cool

I woke up the next morning to something weird. I woke up to find myself where it was like my body was still asleep but my spirit was kind of aware…a weird state of being. I was kneeling down, at the head of my bed, holding a glow in the dark rosary that I had from youth, and I was praying in some weird language. I was speaking in tongues. God gave me this ability in my sleep.

Tongues are kinda weird. They are the language of the spirit. It is your spirit communicating with other spirit – the spirit of God.

Speaking in tongues is an incredible way to bless yourself. It is a way to bypass the mind and allow your spirit, that knows what you need, to talk to God (God is spirit). A lot of times you can get prayers in tongues more easily answered because they are spirit to spirit communications and your spirit can more clearly see and communicate what it is that you need.
